Why Behavonomics and not “Behaveonomics”?

Behavonomics is a portmanteau (blending two words by taking parts of each). We're combining "Behaviour" + "Economics" to get "Behav-onomics," not "Behave" + "onomics."Looking at other examples, it's Econometrics (not Economy-metrics), Wikinomics (not Wikieconomics), Freakonomics (not Freakeconomics). Once you see the pattern, you can't unsee it. It just kind of makes sense.

How is Behavonomics different from Behavioural Economics?

While Behavioural Economics is an academic discipline that seeks to understand why people make decisions, Behavonomics is a practical framework that translates these insights into actionable strategies. The key difference is Behavonomics has been battle-tested across hundreds of real-world scenarios. We kept what worked, killed what didn't, and refined what remained to handle the messy complexity of reality. If Behavioural Economics were Tai Chi, Behavonomics would be Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Both have their benefits, but one was specifically designed for modern-day combat. (No offense to our Tai Chi lovers!)
